What is Automotive Grade Urea?

Automotive-grade urea, also known as diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), is a solution

used in selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems in diesel engines. It is designed to reduce harmful nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions from diesel vehicles.

Automotive-grade urea is a highly purified solution of urea dissolved in demineralized water. It is non-toxic, non-flammable, and safe to handle. The urea solution is injected into the vehicle's exhaust system, where it undergoes a chemical reaction with the hot exhaust gases.

Inside the SCR catalyst, the urea solution breaks down into a mmonia (NH3) and carbon dioxide (CO2). The a mmonia reacts with the NOx emissions, converting them into nitrogen (N2) and water vapor (H2O), which are harmless components of the air we breathe.

 

Application

1. Urea is a very good moisturizing ingredient. It is found in the stratum corneum of the skin and is a major component of the skin's natural moisturizing factor NMF. For the skin, urea has moisturizing and soft keratin, so it can prevent the stratum corneum from blocking the pores, thereby improving the problem of acne. It is used to add moisturizing ingredients to masks, skin care lotions, creams, hand creams and other products. The addition ratio is 3-5%.
2. Industrial applications: It has a light-increasing effect on chemical polishing of steel and stainless steel, as a corrosion inhibitor in metal pickling, and also as a preparation for palladium activation liquid.
3. Urea is a high concentration of nitrogen fertilizer, is a neutral organic fertilizer, also can be used in the production of a variety of compound fertilizer.
