Dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP) is a main plasticizer with excellent performance for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastics. Compared with the currently commonly used d iisopropyl phthalate (DOP), it has the advantages of heat resistance, cold resistance, hard volatilization, anti extraction, good softness and electrical insulation. It shows excellent durability, soapy water resistance and low softness in products. Due to its low volatility, the use of DOTP can fully meet the requirements of wire and cable temperature resistance grade. It can be widely used in 70 ºC resistant cable materials (IEC standards) and other PVC soft products.

 

 

Application

 

1.DOTP has good resistance to electricity and heat, which can replace DOP in PVC plastic electrical wire sheath and can also be used in the production of artificial leather film.In addition, with excellent compatibility, it can also be used in the plasticizing of acrylonitril e derivatives, polyvinyl butadiene, nitrile rubber, cellulose nitrate, etc.And plays the role of improving the hardness and deformation of products, in nitrile rubber, neoprene, epdm products can be used as softener.Especially used in cable material with good plasticizing effect and low volatility, widely used in the requirement of heat resistance, high insulation of all kinds of products, is the production of temperature resistant 70ºC cable material and other requirements of volatile PVC products ideal plasticizer.
 

2.DOTP is used for PVC products in cars, and can solve the problem of fogging of glass Windows.DOTP is also used for high quality lubricants or lubrication additives for paints, coatings and precision instruments for high quality furniture and interior decoration, nitrocel varnish additives, paper softeners, polyester amide bi-directional stretch films, film plastic crafts, plasma storage bags, etc.
 

3. Because the linear molecular structure of DOTP is similar to DOS and DOA, it has good cold resistance.
 

4. The volume resistivity of DOTP is 10-20 times higher than that of DOP, and it has excellent migration resistance. 5. Because DOTP does not contain phthalates, it is not within the scope of 16 kinds of phthalate-containing plasticizers restricted in the EU and other countries, so it is an excellent environmental protection plasticizer.
